RED BEANS HUMMUS
When you do not know very well where to throw, a hummus is a good solution, the one in the photo is of red beans, the rest of the ingredients are the same ones that I usually add to the classic hummus of chickpeas.
It is a very simple recipe, that goes very well and you will love it, below I'll tell you some advice so that it is less tedious and you can improvise it without problems.
You can make hummus of beans, chickpeas, lentils, choose the one you like the most.
The main ingredient of this recipe is red beans, but as you know, other versions are also prepared, with lentils for example.
What I like the most is that it has a different flavor, that of the beans, that if you also cook with vegetables, they are even richer.
Point:
- 125 grams of dried red beans
- 1 cda of Tahini
- lemon 1 / 2 juice
- 1 / 2 garlic clove
- 1 / 4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 / 2 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 / 4 teaspoon sweet paprika from La Vera, (optional)
- 1 / 4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cda EVOO
- 2 tbsp water (depending on the desired texture may be more or less).
Soak the beans the night before, cook the beans with a half onion, a leek and a carrot.
Process the beans with the rest of the ingredients and let them rest in the fridge. A splash of oil and enjoy!
This hummus is very well preserved during 4-5 days, so it helps you to plan the week.
Its flavor is totally different from the classic chickpea, the beans have another touch.
Tip: to always have vegetables prepared, you can cook a good amount and keep them for rations in the freezer, when you want to prepare a hummus or a salad you just have to take them out a little while before.
This time I accompany the red bean hummus with delicious rye toasts, you know that I also like to take it with crudités or as an accompaniment to other dishes.
Do you like hummus? Do you prepare it at home? What is your favorite version?
Tell me in the comments! 😉
